Update: Issue with the University Lecture Capture System

An issue was identified yesterday with the University’s Lecture Capture system which may have resulted in the unintended disclosure of information. The reported issue suggested that in rooms with the capability to record multiple screens, information on a screen not intended for recording may have been recorded.
Which rooms have been affected?
This issue has been isolated to one multimodal teaching room (Mech Eng LT B). We will carry out further investigations within this space.
No other Teaching spaces are affected by this issue.
What do I need to do?
We feel it necessary to advise all instructors using recording facilities on campus to observe the following precautions when delivering teaching:
- close unnecessary application windows and ensure personal information in grading, roster, email or messaging interfaces are not displayed on any screen inadvertently while you record
If you have already recorded your teaching and have found that it contains content you do not wish to share, you can prevent the lecture capture from auto-publishing to students.
Those staff booked to use Mech Eng LT B can still use this room, with the above advice being mandatory to ensure that information is not accidentally recorded.
