Hard Refresh on a Browser

It is sometimes necessary to do a hard refresh on your browser, which clears the cache (memory) for a particular page. For example, if you can't see the Microsoft Education link in a module, then this might help. Choose your browser from the list below for full instructions.

Chrome on Mac

  1. Navigate to the page that you are having problems with.
  2. Either:
    • Hold down Shift and click the Reload button.
    • Or hold down Command, Shift and click the ‘R’ key.
  3. The page should refresh fully.

Chrome on Windows

  1. Navigate to the page that you are having problems with.
  2. Either:
    • Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button.
    • Or hold down Ctrl and press F5.
  3. The page should refresh fully.

Edge

  1. Navigate to the page that you are having problems with.
  2. Either:
    • Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button.
    • Or hold down Ctrl and press F5.
  3. The page should refresh fully.

Firefox on Mac

  1. Navigate to the page that you are having problems with.
  2. Either:
    • Hold down Command, Shift and the ‘R’ key.
    • Or hold down Shift and press the Reload button.
  3. The page should refresh fully.

Firefox on Windows

  1. Navigate to the page that you are having problems with
  2. Either:
    • Hold down Ctrl, Shift and the ‘R’ key.
    • Or hold down Ctrl and press F5.
  3. The page should refresh fully.

Safari

  1. Navigate to the page that you are having problems with
  2. Hold down the option and command key then press the ‘E’ key.
  3. The page should refresh fully.
