In 2014, the University of Leeds launched an innovative lecture capture system. To ensure we continue to provide the most suitable system for our users, the Media Enhanced Learning Project is managing a tender process to procure a new lecture capture and multimedia management system.
Your invitation to participate
We invite all members of the teaching and learning community to join us in the evaluation stage of the tender process. Your participation will help us ensure that we maintain a provision that meets the teaching and learning needs of both academics and students. We also need to ensure that the solution provides a cost-effective and sustainable service and supports our core strategies and future improvements.
How you can get involved
In early September, we invited leading providers, including our current supplier, to submit proposals. We are now setting up test environments for several potential solutions, and colleagues are invited to participate in the following evaluation sessions:
Supplier demonstrations and Q&A (online)
Monday 11 November: 10:30am -12:00pm, Echo360
Wednesday 13 November: 11:45am -1.15pm, Kaltura
Thursday 14 November: 1.00pm -2.30pm, Panopto
Monday 18 November: 1:30pm-3:00pm, Enghouse
You can watch the supplier demonstrations at the Digital Education Service SharePoint.
Hands-on systems testing (two hours, completed in your own time)
18 November to 3 December
Testing will be focused on core features such as video recording and editing and will be conducted online. It can be undertaken at any time during the testing period, and will not be linked to a live lecture.
Roundtable discussions
Wednesday 4 December: 10.00am - 11.30am
Thursday 5 December: 2.00pm - 3.30pm
Interested in participating?
Please complete this form to register your interest by Friday 8 November.
If you have missed the initial call for participation and would like to be involved, please contact Plamen Momchilov at [email protected].
Thank you for your support. Your input as a member of the teaching and learning community will be invaluable during this process.
