Mediasite, the University’s video platform, will be upgraded making it easier for colleagues to embed videos directly into Minerva Documents/Assessments and Tests and add links to ad-hoc videos to a Minerva module.
What we’ll be sharing here
Help guides on how to embed Mediasite content into a Minerva Document/Assignment/Test will be available the day of the upgrade. This page will be updated to include the links to these guides when they become available.
We'll also use this page to let you know how the upgrade is going on the day. The upgrade requires us to move from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3 technology, and whilst we've carried out thorough testing, we always plan for a roll-back in case of any unexpected issues.
What's happening - 30 July 2024
Unfortunately, due to a major incident which is affecting some Microsoft cloud services, we will be unable to upgrade Mediasite as planned. We are committed to upgrading Mediasite at a time that causes minimum disruption to staff and students and will share details here of the next planned date once the major incident has been resolved.
What's happening - next steps..
Following resolution of the Microsoft cloud service issue, we're planning to upgrade Mediasite on 5 August. We will post an update here on the day. Once we confirm that Mediasite has been updated, we'll provide information on how to create a ticket via the IT website in case you experience any issues.

We've upgraded Mediasite. For a quick overview of what's new see the Mediasite August Update news post.
We're continuing to monitor the service to ensure there is no disruption to service. If you are having technical issues using Mediasite let us know by submitting a support ticket via the IT website. Log in to the IT website, and search for Something broken? This will take you a form where you can outline the issue you are having so we can look into this for you.
