New features coming to Mediasite
We're planning to upgrade Mediasite, the University’s video platform, this will make it easier for colleagues to embed videos directly into Minerva Documents.
Accessing Mediasite recordings in older Minerva modules (2021/22 and older)
Older technology used to link to Mediasite content from within Minerva modules/organisations 2021/22 and older, will no longer be supported from the 30th of June 2024.

We expect normal service to resume on Monday. Scheduled lecture capture recordings will continue to be monitored carefully throughout the day.

We have been notified that some scheduled lecture capture recordings are not automatically starting as expected. Record Now functionality remains unaffected.
How to request a change to the owner of a lecture capture/Mediasite recording
Staff who wish to request a change to the owner of a Mediasite lecture capture or recording are advised to refer to guidance on the IT website for who to contact.
Update: Scheduled lecture capture recordings show now start as expected.
Following on from the service disruption first reported on Monday, 2nd of October, scheduled lecture recordings should now automatically start as expected.

A software update will take place on Mediasite, the University's Lecture Capture and Media Management System on Saturday 29 July 2023.

Essential maintenance will take place on Mediasite and VideoLeeds on Saturday 15 July 2023 between 12:00AM – 6:00AM BST.

Mediasite Upgrade – Desktop Recorder to be replaced by new software.
Mediasite Desktop Recorder will be retired on Friday 27 August and replaced by Mediasite Mosaic. This new application provides access to multiple recording options, and can also be used to bulk upload videos created in other applications to Mediasite. Mediasite will be upgraded on Saturday 28 August, between 12am and 4am. During this period the Mediasite Service should be considered at risk but users should still be able to playback recordings.
