Read about the new features and updates to Vevox, the University's interactive polling tool.

Updates

Vevox has updated its user interface within the the set up dashboard. You will notice a different look and layout when you log in to create or share a session. An overview of the updates:

• The polls section of a session is now called Presentation. It is still situated in the top left hand side of the screen and is the page you are taken to by default when creating or editing a session.
• When you add content to your session, rather than a pop up window you can now create and edit polls on the right hand side of the screen.
• To reorder you polls or content you can now drag and drop items into the order you would like to present them.
• The Present button has now moved to the top right hand side of the screen.
• Sharing options are now located in the top-right corner of the screen, where you can access the QR code, copy the session link, or add co-hosts to your session.
• The section which used to be called Surveys is now named Self-paced. All surveys and Asynchronous quizzes can be found here.

Within a session you may see a what’s new button, you can click here and take a tour of the new layout.

New features

• Word Cloud Analysis - When running a word cloud you can now use AI to analyse your results. After presenting a word cloud, an icon will appear on the right hand side of the screen. If you click this you will be given the two options below:
  • Themes - A word cloud result can be summarised by grouping responses into themes.
  • Sentiment - A word cloud result can be analysed to show the sentiment of the responses. Giving a percentage of how many were positive, negative and neutral.
• Word cloud questions can now be configured to restrict the number of responses a user can add.
• Leaderboard items - You can now add a leaderboard slide anywhere within your presentation. When you reach this slide during delivery, the leaderboard will open automatically. Leaderboards can also still be launched at any time on an ad‑hoc basis from Present view.
• Text Editor 
  • Coloured text can now be used in question titles and correct answer explanations.
  • Superscript and subscript text can now be used in question titles and correct answer explanations.
  • Hyperlinks now work in correct answer explanations.
