Before and After Poll comparisons on Vevox

The comparison poll involves asking the same question twice (or multiple times) within a session and then comparing the results. It helps measure changes in perceptions throughout the session, and identify whether any knowledge gaps have been filled. It also offers insight into how opinions or knowledge evolve from the beginning to the end of the session.

The comparison of polls currently only works on Multichoice poll types.

The comparison icon will appear only after the same poll has been asked twice and has received voting results.

Create the before comparison poll

  1. In the Polls section select the + Create new button.
  2. Select Multichoice as the poll type.
  3. Enter the 'Question title' of your poll.
  4. Then enter the 'Choices' you want your participants to choose from.
  5. Choose the number of allowed selections.
  6. Press Create.
  7. Select on the More options button (three dots or vertical ellipses) next to the question and select Duplicate. Note: You must duplicate the question rather than retyping it in order for the functionality to work.
  8. Create any other questions for your session.
  9. Move your duplicated question to where you want it to appear in the session. You can do this by selecting the More options button (three dots) next to the question, selecting Move, and then selecting where you want it to appear.

Present and reveal the comparison

  1. Run your session as normal and present the questions to the participants.
  2. Once you have asked your participant the same question twice, an icon will appear on the right hand side of the present screen named Compare with previous poll. Select the icon and you will be able to see the comparisons.
