How to use the Vevox AI quiz generator

When creating Artificial Intelligence (AI) prompts, it's important to remember that you should not include any personal, sensitive or confidential information including intellectual property of the University. You must always check the results created by the AI tool for accuracy.

This guide is divided into two parts:

AI quiz generator – generates multiple-choice questions with answer options, correct answers, and explanations from a topic, document, or URL you provide.

AI question helper – takes a question you've written and generates relevant answer options for you.

Before you use the AI quiz generator or helper, you will need to log into Vevox and select Create session.

AI quiz generator

This tool only creates MCQ questions. The AI feature will automatically generate up to 10 multichoice questions with one correct answer and explanation.

  1. Select the + Add Content button.
  2. Select AI generated questions .
  3. Enter your prompt/topic and press the continue. Example: "London underground most stations".
  4. You will then be given options to refine your quiz with some suggest subtopics. You can refine or not.
  5. Select the number of questions to generate. Select the difficulty level and the target audience.
  6. Select Preview.
  7. After a few minutes your questions will be generated. You can decide which ones you would like to add to your session.
  8. Select Add Questions.
  9. Check the accuracy of the question – including whether the correct answer has been properly set before running them in a session.

AI question helper

The AI question helper will come up with suggested answers to a question you already have.

  1. Select Add content button. Then select you question type. You choices are MCQ, Numeric, Ranking in order, Ranking by preference.
  2. Add in your question to the question box.
  3. Select Generate options button below the question box.
  4. Your choices will be automatically populated, including the correct answer and explanation if there is one.
  5. Review the choices, correct answer and feedback are correct and make any amendments as required.
  6. Press done in the top right hand corner.
