What's happening?

Noteable is undergoing scheduled maintenance 07:00 to 09:00 on Thursday 12 February 2026 to deploy an in-term mitigation to reduce the known Jupyter notebook “duplication” behaviour. This mitigation change removes JupyterLab Real-Time Collaboration (RTC/Collaboration) from Noteable notebook server images.

How does it affect me?

Noteable will be at risk during this window while notebook images are refreshed. Users may briefly be unable to start new sessions, or may need to restart sessions to pick up the updated image. For more information, visit the Noteable status page.

Where can I get help?

If you are experiencing technical issues after the maintenance period, please log a ticket via the IT website.

Noteable reminds users that removing RTC/Collaboration also removes Jupyter’s auto-save behaviour in this context. Please save work explicitly using the Save icon (top-left of the notebook area). Users will also be prompted to save when closing a notebook.
