PebblePad: changes to ATLAS workspace navigation 

A redesigned ATLAS interface will be introduced in January 2026. ATLAS is the assessment space in PebblePad that hosts workspaces, assignments and submissions. Users such as workspace managers, assessors and tutors often use the assessment space and will notice this change.

How will this affect me? 

You will see changes to the ATLAS interface in PebblePad, including: 

• a collapsible menu 

• unified navigation across admin areas 

• workspace-level insights 

• expanded search and a new User Account Menu in ATLAS.

When can I access the new ATLAS? 

From Wednesday 12 November, you will have a new banner message in the ATLAS dashboard, providing you with a ‘feature toggle’.

You will have the opportunity to revert to ‘classic ATLAS’ until the end of December 2025.  

The ‘new’ ATLAS interface will be fully adopted (without the option to revert to ‘classic’ ATLAS) in January 2026 (date to be confirmed).

 Why are these changes being introduced? 

These changes are being introduced to improve the user experience by: 

• Reducing friction and cognitive load: providing a more consistent layout with clearer workflows  

• Boosting efficiency for administrators and assessors: key tools are now easier to find and faster to use 

• Laying the foundation for future enhancements: these developments set the stage for smarter onboarding, clearer data insights, in-product guidance, and continued usability improvements.
