Issue with the recording tool in Minerva

In Minerva there is a recording tool which can be used to create recordings directly in modules and organisations. We have received reports of this not working correctly, specifically when adding recordings to feedback for Blackboard Assignments. Typically, the recordings appear to have been saved but cannot be played back. This is affecting recently created recordings. We can see issues with recordings made since 9 December.

We have escalated this issue to our supplier and they are investigating. In the meantime, we recommend that the recording tool is not used to return student feedback as new recordings are unlikely to work.

This tool can also be used to add recordings to Announcements.  We have not seen any issues when it is used for that purpose. Turnitin also has its own audio comment tool - to be clear, this is a separate tool and not affected by this issue.
