Update: Issue with the recording tool in Minerva

As reported in December, there is currently an issue with the recording tool in Minerva. We have received reports of this not working correctly, specifically when adding recordings to feedback for Blackboard Assignments. Typically, the recordings initially appear to have been saved but after clicking 'Save and Exit', they cannot be played back. This is affecting recently created recordings. We can see issues with recordings made since 9 December.

Our supplier is working on resolving this issue. In the meantime, we recommend that the recording tool is not used to return student feedback as new recordings are unlikely to work.

This tool can also be used to add recordings to Announcements.  We have not seen any issues when it is used for that purpose.

Turnitin has its own audio comment tool, which is a separate feature and is not affected by this issue.
