Academic Personal Tutoring (APT) is at the heart of the University's commitment to helping students make the most of their time at Leeds - helping them to maximise their success and ensuring they feel they belong as members of the vibrant academic community here at Leeds.
APT at Leeds draws on a range of digital systems to support you in your role as an Academic Personal Tutor (PebblePad, Microsoft Bookings with Me, and StREAM@Leeds).
On this page, you'll find links to step-by-step guidance (including videos) to explore at your own pace, along with details of online training delivered by the Digital Education Systems team, to help you decide what training and support you might benefit from when using these APT systems.

Online APT Training & Support Sessions
Book your place on the Student panel on academic personal tutoring
Are you curious to learn more about student perspectives of academic personal tutoring (APT)? This session will explore academic personal tutoring through the student lens and is available to all colleagues. A panel of students from a range of Schools and backgrounds will reflect on their experiences of APT, what APT means to be them (bringing in their individual identities and lived experiences) and draw on their diverse experiences. The session is designed to facilitate authentic and honest conversations around academic personal tutoring between staff and students to support us in developing our APT practice.
What's new for this academic year?
Academic Personal Tutors will notice that the LeedsforLife workbook has been revised for 2023/24 with some notable improvements.
All new foundation, postgraduate and first year undergraduate students (as well as those continuing students who haven't yet begun using their workbook) will receive this revised edition. See what's new for APT in 2023/24.
The essential guides above cover these topics. However, we've also broken them down into bite-sized guides so that you can quickly find what you need when you need it. Please note that not all help topics are listed on this page; you may want to use the site search to find answers to any specific questions you might have.
There are usually one of two reasons why you might not see any students. Learn why you can't see your students in your PebblePad APT workspace or StREAM@Leeds, and what you can do to resolve this issue.
